WWI 'Male' Tank

The Mk IV Tank was the most widely used tank in WWI. It was also the first tank, deriving its name from water tanks the codeword used during its secret development. The Mk IV had no turret and a maximum speed of only 3.7mph. The Mk IV Male was armed with a two 6 Pounders carried in a sponson on each side of the tank and a machine gun. Around 1,200 MK IVs were built with a number being captured and utilised by the Germans who repainted and re-armed them.
