A superb example of a late war German Jagdpanzer 38(t) Starr. One of the best adaptations of the highly reliable Czech chassis, the Starr (German for 'rigid' or 'solid') was a standard Hetzer with the 7.5cm Pak 39 replaced with a rigidly mounted and recoiless 7.5cm Pak 39 L/48. With a widened hull and well sloped low superstructure it was a very cramped vehicle for the four man crew but was easy to build and popular with the crew. The addition of the recoiless gun meant more interior space.
