GAZ-42 & 120mm Mortar

Based on the Russian GAZ-AA truck, the GAZ-42 was built between 1939 and 1946 with 33,840 built. Unlike the GAZ-AA, the GAZ-42 was powered by a gas generator that used firewood or coal to produce the gas to power the engine. The M1938 120mm Mortar was a copy of the French Brandt 120mm Mortar model 1935. It was the first modern 120mm mortar developed by any country and entered service in 1939.
