Carro Armato M13/40

The M13/40 entered service in 1940 replacing earlier underarmed and underarmoured models when pitted against the British armour in north Africa. The M13/40 was the first Italian tank with a turret housing a 47mm calibre gun although it was soon proven to be insufficient against the Allied armour. However, despite this it remained in service until 1943.
