The Sturmboot 39 was a light German assault boat used for river and small waterway crossings as well as patrols and anti-partisan activity. They were fast, but had little or no protection and only a bow positioned machine gun for protection. Typically provided by Pioneer units they were key to expanding bridgeheads. The Sturmboot 39 could carry 6 men or half a ton of supplies.
