Mercedes DB L4500A Stahl-Fahrerhaus (Allrad)

The 4500 refers to the 4,500kg. The truck was originally designed for civilian use but was widely in service with the German Army in WWII. Around 9,500 were produced between 1939 and 1944. The L4500 had a 7.2 litre diesel engine producing 112 bhp with two main variants, the 2 wheel drive L4500S and the 4 wheel drive L4500A. The L4500 also had two different cabs types. The Einheits-Fahrerhaus kit depicts the wooden cab and the Stahl-Fahrerhaus depicts the steel cab version.
