The Bofors 37mm Wz36 was designed by Swedish firm Bofors in the 1930s. Licensed copies were manufactured in a number of countries. The Poles bought 300 guns and then produced more themselves. At the start of WWII the Poles had 1,200 in service. The Wz36 was capable of 12 rounds per minute and had an effective range of 4,000m with a muzzle velocity of 800-870m/s.
