The Pz Kpfw III Ausf A was produced in 1937 and armed with a 3.7cm KwK L46.5 gun, two coaxial mounted 7.92mm MG34 and a third 7.92mm MG34 in the hull. It was powered by a Maybach HL108TR gasoline engine and crewed by five men. The Ausf A, unlike later versions of the Pz Kpfw III, had only 5 road wheels and 2 return rollers.
