The Tempest was a WWII British fighter bomber dervied from the earlier Hawker Typhoon. The Tempest was based on the Typhoon with a thinner wing to improve airflow and improve performance at higher altitudes. Other improvements in wing design allowed the Tempest to accommodate four Hispano 20mm cannon.
