15cm Schwere Feldhaubitze 18 sFH 18 (Vehicle Towed)

The 15cm sFH 18 was brought into service in 1933-34. This was the partner of the s 10cm K-18 Bleiglanz, using the same carriage but heavier barrel. The sFH 18 was the first weapon to be issued with a rocket assisted shell which was designed to increase the range. This kit depicts a 15cm sFH 18 with the additional two wheel bogie which allowed it to be towed by vehicles when previously it had been horse drawn. However, the lack of suspension still meant it could only be towed at low speeds.
