Lorraine 38L VBCP Armoured Personnel Carrier

The 38L VBCP was a modified Lorraine 37L tractor with a superstructure fitted which provided space for 4 men in the cargo bay, 6 in the trailer plus the driver and passenger. At the start of WWII, 9 vehicles from an order of 240 had been delivered. By June 1940 this had increased to 150 vehicles. Lorraine 38L VBCP were supplied to mechanised infantry units and was the only all tracked armoured personnel carrier used in the Battle of France.
