Universal Carrier I Mk II Mortar Carrier

Originally there were a number of different variants but by 1940 there were standardised into the Universal Carrier of which the Mk I was the original Universal Carrier. These standardised carriers had a square rear section providing more room for crews. Later in the war as Anti Tank units were armed with 17 Pounders, the old 6 Pounders were given to the Infantry Divisions along with Mk II Universal Carriers for towing them. This kit depicts a 3 inch Mortar Carrier with a rear mounted frame
