Churchill Mk VII

The Churchill first appeared on the beaches of Dieppe in 1942 but the Mk I suffered from some problems not least of which was it's weight and slow speed. By the Mk III the 2 pounder had been replaced with a 6 pounder and subsequently the US 75mm M3 gun was fitted to the Mk IV (NA75) in the field in North Africa and the Mk VII on the production lines. In addition to the 75mm gun, the MK VII had thicker internal armour, a new cast turret with commanders cupola, and improved suspension.
