Hawker Typhoon 1B

Used extensively in North West Europe the Typhoons ("Tiffies") were always "on call" to the British during their torturous advance through Normandy. Providing close support to the infantry & armoured divisions the British called on the Typhoons to soften up strong points and deal with German armour to help their advance through the dense bocage. Without doubt, the most memorable use of the Typhoons were during the closure and the horrific reduction of the Falaise pocket in August 1944.
