A34 Comet Mk I

A stunning example of an A34 Comet Mk I which saw service late on in WWII as well as in Korea. The Comet was introduced to address a number of failings in the Cromwell most specifically that the Cromwell was under gunned. The Comet mounted a 77mm HV which fired the same calibre of shell as the 17 Pounder but a different shell casing which gave a lower muzzle velocity. Comets were supplied to the 11th Armoured Division in December 1944.
