The Churchill first appeared on the beaches of Dieppe in 1942 and despite initial setbacks in performance it went on to be a much used and much converted vehicle. The Mk VI was a factory produced Churchill in early 1944 fitted the 75mm MkV gun as well as some other minor improvements. Production was limited to 200 and the Mk VI was quickly replaced by the redesigned Mk VII.
