BT-2 Artillery Tank (76.2mm)

The BT tanks were lightly armoured but produced in large numbers to provide support for the infantry. BT-2s were initially armed with a DA-2 setting of twin 7.62mm DT machine guns and later a 37mm B-3 gun. The BT-2 Artillery Tank was developed in 1932-33 and fitted the vehicle with a 76.2mm gun housed in a taller turret. A prototype was produced but the BT-2 Artillery Tank never entered service. The turret design was, however, used to upgrade the T-26 and develop the BT-7A.
