The Citroën Traction Avant 11CV was developed in late 1933/early 1934 and was one of the most successful front wheel drive cars of the 1930s. Many 11CV would have been traversing French streets and boulevards when the Germans invaded France in 1940. It was not uncommon for comandeered vehicles to be pressed into service by the Germans during the occupation of France.
