Merville Battery - Bunker #1 (No 1 in Image)
The Merville Battery is located in Merville-Franceville in Normandy and was the site of one of the earliest battles of D-Day taking place just after midnight on the 6th June 1944. Merville Bunker #1 depicts an ammunition bunker from the Merville Battery. The battery was protected by an anti-tank ditch and was surrounded by two belts of barbed wire with a minefield.
